Morena is coming to 1 Martin Place, Sydney.

In August 2023, Executive Chef Alejandro Saravia announced that he will be bringing an elevated Latin American dining experience to Sydney’s 1 Martin Place.

In an exclusive feature in the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food, Alejandro said “Australians’ understanding of Latin American cuisine has developed in the last decade, with more restaurants opening and more travel between Australia and the Americas.”

Alejandro Saravia is widely credited with introducing Peruvian cuisine to the Australian market and has been sharing this passion across the country through various restaurants since 2006.

Of the new venture Saravia said, “I am so excited to open Morena in the heart of Sydney. With this new venue we will be elevating the way Sydneysiders engage with the diverse cuisines from across Latin-American cultures.”

He continues “For me, opening Morena represents the culmination of over 15 years of working to shine a light on the unique flavours and hospitality of Latin America. We aim to transform Australians’ perspective of Latin-American cuisines, showcasing the diverse culinary heritage beyond just street food, all while preserving the rich cultural roots and authentic flavours that define it.”

There is certainly buzz about Sydney, with media coverage across Time Out, Broadsheet, DeliciousConcrete Playground, Urban List and Hospitality Magazine.

We can’t wait to share our opening date with you, stay tuned!
